Jeriq has finally dropped off his long awaited Indigenous hip-hop record Different Wave which features Tuff King. The single was released on September 16, 2026 after a few days of intros and teaser of the song, and the public has waited in anticipation for an exciting collaboration.
Drawing most of its strength from Jeriq’s Igbo trap delivery, “Different Wave” is a raw hip-hop track layered with a drill-inspired production that is anchored by the energetic rap flows from Jeriq as he raps confidently on his lane. Tuff King makes the chorus while the song’s core message is centered around the singer’s perspective of having an extra layer of intensity in their pursuit of success.
Speaking about the inspiration for the record, Jeriq shares that “the song was sampled from an underground song I did called “Riddim of the Wave” which provides a bit of context for the record.” On a lyrical level, the artist talks about going after bigger things, making money, remaining positive during hard times and depending on God to make it as an artist.
